I’ve always been a fan of DIY’s mission, so when I learned that DIY co-founder Zach Klein was seeking to grow further, I jumped […]

The Education System Is Locked Inside Its Own Pipeline July 3, 2018

Mizuko Ito

As a salesperson I’m familiar with a popular sales methodology called the “sales pipeline.” The sales pipeline looks like a funnel. At the top of the funnel you have your cold leads, which are earliest in the sales process. Those convert to middle-of-the-funnel opportunities that are warmer in the sales process. And finally, you have […]

Saying “Thank you!” to the teachers that changed our lives May 8, 2018

Thank you

Guest Post from Neveen Mourad, Sr. Manager of Community Programs at littleBits When I was in high school, I had a teacher who invited me to “imagine anything,” but this was pre-littleBits. He taught me to imagine anything with words. From there, I grew a confidence in myself and in my imagination that went beyond […]

A Look at the Most Iconic “Roars” of All-Time April 27, 2018

We all yell. From soldiers shouting “Geronimo!” as they jump out of an airplane, to concert goers squealing “Freebird!” between songs, yelling has become a form of personal expression and — in the case of Lucasfilm — a way to help others. Lucasfilm is partnering with UNICEF to encourage people to share their best “Wookiee […]

The era of “fitting in” is over. January 21, 2015

Introducing littleBits bitLab September 16, 2014

The bitLab is the app store for hardware. It’s a marketplace for user-generated hardware, and allows anyone to create their own littleBits module and share it with the community. In a nutshell, here’s how it works: You submit a module, the community votes on it, we vet it and then manufacture it and share the revenues.

A Note from Ayah, Founder and CEO August 4, 2014

We recently launched the newest addition to the littleBits library: the cloudBit. The cloudBit is the easiest way for anyone to make their own internet-connected devices and inventions, no soldering, programming, or wiring. This is a moment I have long been waiting for; the module has gone through multiple iterations, and we wanted to get […]

The cloudBit is the next major step in this same vision — we are now making the Internet into a concrete material that can be easily incorporated into any physical creation or invention.
