Announcing Some Changes for littleBits Inventor Club Leaders

By Allie VanNest

To our fearless, fun-tastic, forward-thinking, and phenomenal littleBits Inventor Club Leaders:

We know it’s been a while — and believe us, we miss you. But that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about you, or that we believe the work you’re doing with young inventors is anything less than inspirational.

While we’d love for you to continue sharing what your club is up to on our Inventor Club Leader Facebook page, we recognize that a lot of the programming you once loved and counted on (club leader calls, invention challenges, monthly newsletters) has been on hiatus. That’s why we want to offer you an exciting new resource to reinvigorate your efforts.

Introducing Online Courses for Young Inventors

You may have heard that littleBits recently joined forces with DIY and JAM! DIY and JAM are a great way to keep engaged in our community and keep your young inventors active and inspired.

  • On DIY, inventors can share inventions, post their own challenges, earn badges, and meet creative thinkers like themselves from around the world.
  • On JAM, inventors can sign up to gain access to a huge library of videos and projects (including ones starring littleBits!) or take self-guided, self-paced courses to nurture their creativity and natural talents.

We encourage you to explore DIY and JAM yourself and introduce it them as resources for your littleBits Inventor Club members. We’re happy to help in any way that we can!

We’ll leave you with an inspiring quote from an educator at an Inventor Club in Gdynia, Poland:

“littleBits are a tool, not just destination in my workshops. They have magical force to open some creative doors, especially within kids. I’ve heard kids say ‘It will move?! But how?? Electronics??! I don’t know anything about it…’ and after a while when you look at them, they are fully engaged with sparkles in their eyes.”

Keep sparkling!
The littleBits Team
