Education: September Skype in the Classroom

By Erin Mulcahy

We’ve partnered with Skype in the Classroom to bring littleBits lessons into your classroom, no matter where in the world you live!

In this month’s lesson, we connected Mrs. Stoll’s 4th grade classroom in Texas with Michael Wilkinson, an elementary math and science teacher from the Bronx, to explore the effect of light and gravity on seedling growth. Students created predictions, learned about environmental influences on plant growth, and then prototyped experimental apparatuses with littleBits to test their hypotheses. You can view Michael’s full lesson and build instructions on our education page: Microgravity and wavelength effect on seedling growth.

Click the image below to see the recording of the session; it’s a great resource for teachers interested in running these lessons in their own classroom.
