littleBits announces the BitStar Expert Educator program, a unique collaboration between our team and top educators and administrators across the country. Together, we have an opportunity to bring hands-on STEAM learning to every classroom by sharing the value of littleBits as an instructional tool to engage and excite students.
The program builds on the work of littleBits Lead Educators, which included cohorts of teachers in 2017 and 2018 to enhance curriculum and support events across the U.S. The littleBits Lead Educators were smaller groups of 15-20 who engaged for shorter periods of time to support curriculum content, product reviews, and events.
BitStars will support similar activities, but with a much larger network of 50 educators across the U.S and engage with the littleBits team for an entire school year. We're looking forward to bringing together a phenomenal group of teachers, coaches, librarians, specialists, administrators, and after-school all-stars who seek out new technologies and design best practices around those tools for classroom use.
BitStars are elementary or middle school educators or administrators in the United States who want to shape the future of educational coding & STEAM, collaborate with others, and inspire the next generation of innovators, big thinkers, and inventors!
Over the course of the 2019-2020 academic year BitStars will organize and attend events to share best practices in STEAM and coding in schools, and show how littleBits offers a solution to teaching both. In addition, BitStars will have an opportunity to share news of their work with the larger community through blogs, social media, webinars, and case studies.
Applications are now closed. BitStars to be announced soon!
