littleBits4MoMA: Behind The Scenes

By admin

TEN days left to view our MoMA Design Store displays and enter the Make it BIG Challenge! To inspire your challenge submission, we sat down with Ryan and Wyeth of LABOUR to discuss the making of the “Art Handlers” and “Puppet Master” displays.

The Art Handlers

Listen to Ryan explain the complex function that the servo Bit (currently a prototype) serves in the piece.

The Puppet Master

In Wyeth’s opinion, the best thing about the puppet is that it is:

“kind of abstract and blocky so when it’s in the collapsed form it looks like a big pile of rubble. There’s a good amount of time when it’s not clear what it is and then this raw material rises up and becomes a form. Metaphorically it was a nice illustration of the creative process.”
