Leo Saccomanno is more than a member of the littleBits community. He is always there with a kind word or idea to improve an invention. He brings people together and is always pushing the boundaries of how Bits can be used as tools for creativity, learning, and self-reflection.
In many ways, Leo embodies the inventor spirit and collaborative nature hardwired into littleBits. As the Baribits Chapter Leader, active forum member, community mentor, and prolific inventor, we hoped Leo would say yes when we offered him an opportunity to be the first littleBits Inventor in Residence. We are so excited that he did!
This program is a month-long position that spotlights inventors and supports their growth as leaders in the littleBits community. Residents are passionate, motivated, and committed to empowering inventors of all ages and backgrounds. This role is essential to nurturing and mentoring the online community, with the ultimate goal of inspiring the next generation of creators and inventors.
As Inventor in Residence, Leo will curate inventions featured on littleBits.cc/invent, support Bitsters on their invention journeys through comments, and create inventions of his own. Here’s more about Leo in his own voice:
Where are you based?
Bariloche, RN, Argentina
How would you describe yourself in six words or less?
I’m passionate, comprehensive, friendly, sincere and helpful.
What are you most looking forward to as the littleBits Inventor in Residence?
I’m really looking forward to growing as a community leader by inspiring others to be authentic and live their dreams.
How has littleBits impacted you creatively?
littleBits allowed me to reinvent myself. Each time I create an invention, I see the chance to know more about me and my creative desires. Projects like ‘look around for inspiration’ or ‘slow consciousness’ are highlights of my wishes, things I want to achieve in my life.
What advice would you give to a new inventor?
When your invention doesn’t work as you expected, you might feel terrible. Surfing this frustration is one of the most important things you will need to learn as an inventor.
What do you plan on inventing next?
Honestly, I don’t know. But for sure I want to invent something simple and significant to our entire littleBits community.
Is there anything else you’d like to say?
I want to give a special shoutout to Chloe Varelidi for inspiring me to become a community leader. Since the #InventAnything course back in 2015, you’ve been showing me a path on how to be friendly and humble, to inspire others to grow upon who they are. I’m so grateful for this. Thank you 🙂
Share your ideas and inventions with Leo and the rest of the littleBits community on the littlebits forum!
