Kids are finding new ways to use technology to enhance their lives every day. It’s also a great mechanism for fun! April Fools’ Day is all about fun, and some of our inventors have used littleBits to create amazing creations that will trick even the most savvy technophiles. Check out these inventions to inspire your inner prankster!
Are you afraid of spiders? Our friend Rahat came up with this creepy arachnid prank. Using Bits from the Gizmos and Gadgets Kit, this creepy crawler slowly descends to elicit some good old-fashioned terror onto its victims.
Don’t stop at spiders! Bees are great for April Fools’ Day tech pranks, as well. This beehive prank uses a variety of Bits to make a full beehive drop to the ground with a resounding thud. The inventor’s custom creation uses an MP3 player and wireless receiver Bits to control a servo that released a pin to make the whole thing fall. Old school, but effective!
This one comes from one of own Bitsters, Elaine. She invented this Prank Package with the Rule Your Room Kit, and it turned into a sort of an auto jack-in-the-box. Using the BLE Bit and controlling it with the littleBits Invent app, she was able to control a servo and mechanical arm inside the box to surprise her targets!
This prank invention is a “Making with Monty” original! Our resident prankster and “mad scientist” created this simple invention using Bits from our Gizmos & Gadgets Kit, 2nd Edition to prank his team. Using the slide dimmer and wireless transmitter Bits, he built a remote control for his Mischief Machine. Using a servo and a mechanical arm for movement, he was able to control his machine from afar, spooking his friends discreetly!
Can’t go wrong with the classics! This invention is an update of the old joy buzzer handshake trick. By connecting the button Bit to the buzzer Bit, you have a rig that you can hide to give your sleeping target quite a surprise.
Hope you have a wonderful and tech-filled April Fools’ Day! And remember: if you can dream it, you can probably prank somebody with it!
