MoMA Design Store Demo April 9, 2013

Our MoMA Design Store installations were created entirely out of littleBits’ electronic modules and basic art materials. On April 13th, 14th, 20th and 21st from 11AM to 3PM at both MoMA Design Stores, the littleBits team will be on location and ready to answer any questions you have regarding the display and product. They’ll also demonstrate how to create a Bit masterpiece of your own.

Fikra Space Shares littleBits in Iraq March 14, 2013

Bilal Ghalib and Murtadha Al-Tameemi are impressive not only for their efforts to bring the hacker space culture to the Middle East and North Africa, but also for the kind and big-hearted way in which they do it. Their work has led to the development of Fikra Space, the first hacker space in Iraq. This growing community has been a labor of love that Murtadha discusses the development in this wonderful blog post.

Bits Generated Art March 13, 2013

Last weekend, littleBits held an electronics prototyping class at the AIGA sponsored Make/Inspire Workshop for teens at the Harlem School of the Arts. We brought in a good friend of littleBits, Doris Cacoilo, an artist and educator who sculpts the minds of students all the way from kindergarten through college, to help us teach students how to make autonomous drawing machines.

littleBits travels to Mahinda Rajapaksa Vidyalaya School March 8, 2013

A group of University of Colombo students participating in an exhibition on IT and New Technology at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Vidyalaya School in Sri Lanka happily shared littleBits with the 6th-9th grade students. littleBits were used to teach some basic electronics to the small group in this rural school.

Bits in the Classroom February 22, 2013

Teacher Kathryn Ross, from the Canadian International School in Tokyo, Japan, recently used littleBits to help teach electricity concepts to her ninth grade science class. The class posted several projects to our community page, and we were even able to catch up with Ms. Ross to find out more about her experience using littleBits in the classroom.

Opening Hardware Workshop March 17, 2010

littleBits organizes Opening Hardware workshop at Eyebeam with Creative Commons, Arduino, MAKE, Adafruit, and many others! The workshop was conceived of and put together by Ayah Bdeir, Founder of littleBits, to share some learnings from research she developed with Creative Commons and to share questions on applying open source software principles to hardware.
