What’s your current role and location?
Executive Director, Montclair Learning Center in Montclair, NJ. We offer STEM after school, Summer Camp and Birthday Parties.
How have you used littleBits in the past? What’s worked best?
We’ve incorporated littleBits into our Summer Program to introduce students to basics of electricity and engineering. Students used their creativity to make all sorts of musical instruments, games and inventions. Students find them fun and easy to use, and they are learning so much in the process.
How do you plan to use littleBits this school year?
We are excited to use the CodeKit this year and allow students to develop their coding skills while inventing new creations, interactive games and animations.
What kinds of skills do you think your students learn using littleBits?
While working with littleBits, my students go through the engineering process from designing to building, testing and improving their inventions. At the same time, they develop their creativity, teamwork, and communication skills.
What do your students enjoy most about littleBits?
They are always very proud to create something that no one has ever made before.
What’s the coolest invention your students have created with littleBits?
A piano and a robot dancing to music made by two 8 year old girls who had never used littleBits before!
What advice would you give to people just starting out with littleBits?
Have fun and be creative! The Bits are very easy to use and so much fun!
