Community Hall of Fame: Audio Counter for the Blind and Visually Impaired

A littleBits Project For The Greater Good

March 16, 2015

Have ever wanted to use littleBits to design an assistive technology device?  RichB made this awesome Audio Counter for the Blind and Visually Impaired  with the mp3 player and speaker bits.

You can see and hear Rich as he demonstrates an automatic counter by using the pulse bit.  Replace the pulse with your own input modules to count your events.

Rich recorded himself on his phone counting to 20 with two second spaces in between each number.  Then he used audio editing software to cut the file into 20 separate .mp3 files.  In order to make sure the mp3 files all played in order, he began each file name with a number.  He even included a .zip file with numbers he read aloud from 1 to 20.  Way to go, Rich!
