Meet the Inventor

Edona Bejtullahu

Where are you based?
BONEVET is located in the beautiful city of Gjakova, Kosovo. It is the first makerspace in the Balkans.

How would you describe yourself in six words or less?
Creative space for learning and making.

What was your littleBits “a-ha!” moment? The moment you were bitten by the littleBits bug.
The first time we created a project with the cloudBit, we had trouble with connecting them online, after couple of tries and online searching, we figured it out and we had our first a-ha moment.

When starting a littleBits project, what does your design and video process look like?
At first we discuss different everyday problems that we have and then how we might be able solve them by creating an invention using littleBits. We draw our ideas on paper, and start to build them step-by-step. By working together in groups we learn that collaboration transforms making into a more fun process. We always watch online videos from people around the world or look at the youngsters at BONEVET as our dose of inspiration for our upcoming projects.

How has littleBits impacted you creatively?
When working with littleBits, creativity comes naturally. We’re blessed to have a lot of brilliant kids that have magnificent imaginations. When combined, creativity has become a way to express our feelings, needs and ideas.

What do you plan on inventing next?
We always encourage makers to create projects that help other people. In littleBits classes, we teach kids to enjoy electronics and through that, we let them find ideas that would make positive changes in the world. The next project that we’re working is a surprise; we can only tell you that it’s something sweet.
