He’s got game: the July littleBits Community Call with Game Designer Greg Trefry

What an expert game designer has to say about games, failure, and the design process.

August 25, 2016

Have you ever designed a game before? If you have, you might remember how freaking hard it was. Or how many times something went wrong before something went right. Or how changing one tiny thing made all the difference. We brought in an expert to talk about all these things and more! And if you’ve never designed a game, or never even thought about it, this littleBits Community Call will give you tons of insight into all the work that goes into game creation, and is packed with expert advice to help you get started.

Greg Trefry is a founder of Gigantic Mechanic, a game design studio, and Come Out & Play, an annual festival of street games that turns New York City and San Francisco into giant playgrounds. As an expert in casual games and big games, he is constantly thinking about how he can refine his process. For Greg, the most important thing is getting your game in front of someone as soon as possible. Watch the full interview for more playful insights and game design tips.

As soon as you have the idea, stop talking about it and go do it.
