Meet The Makeys: Jay Silver & Eric Rosenbaum of Makey Makey

The whole world is a bit

April 21, 2015

Now that the new Makey Makey module is released into the wild, let’s meet the makers at Joy Labz, the team that makey’d the original Makey.

.

.
Jay Silver is the co-founder of Makey Makey an invention kit for everyone, that turns everyday objects like bananas into touchpads and combines them with computer programs and the internet. Jay worked with our bitLab team to bring Makey Makey into the littleBits library enabling interactions that weren’t before possible in either product. In Jays’ words; “The MakeyMakey + littleBits collaboration is one small bit for makers, but one giant leap for maker kind.”

Eric Rosenbaum is the other half of Makey Makey. Back in March, Eric joined NYU music professor Alex Ruthmann at our #InventAnything Community Call to talk about reimagining music with hardware. Watch the hear how Eric + Alex take objects around them and make them more musical and explain the importance of finding your creative crew and hanging out with them to make epic things.
