The timeout is a settable timer. It's great when you want something to stay on or off for a certain amount of time (like keeping a buzzer on for 10 seconds after it gets triggered by a button).

Adjust the "time" dial with the included purple screwdriver to choose how long the the timer runs - the time ranges from approximately one second to five minutes. In "on-off" mode, it will send an "on" signal until the time runs out. In "off-on" mode, it will send an "off" signal until the time runs out, then it will switch "on".
