Use the Gizmos & Gadget Kit to make your own remote controlled fan boat & recreate George Washington's iconic journey across the Delaware River in 1776!

from Wikipedia:

George Washington's crossing of the Delaware River, which occurred on the night of December 25–26, 1776, during the American Revolutionary War, was the first move in a surprise attack organized by George Washington against the Hessian forces in Trenton, New Jersey on the morning of December 26. Planned in partial secrecy, Washington led a column of Continental Army troops across the icy Delaware River in a logistically challenging and dangerous operation.

How To Make It

1

Make your boat You can craft your boat using a variety of materials (cardboard, wood, metal) or you can just use a simple piece tupperware. We searched the kitchen cabinet for one of the many lidless plastic bins and threw a mounting board in it. The circuit is simple: power + wireless receiver + servo & fan. Tape the fan on top of the servo and tape your remote controlled fan to the back of your ship.

2

Make your remote control Your remote control is exactly like the one for the Bitbot. The circuit is: power + split + slide dimmers + wireless transmitter.

Decorate your boat This is a great opportunity to learn about George Washington's crossing of the Delaware River (the event and the painting by Emanuel Gottlieb Leutze). Print out the painting and tape it onto your boat. Or, try something else. What famous boat do you want to recreate? Jack Sparrow's Black Pearl? Sir Francis Drake's Golden Hind? Or Zheng He's ship?
