Give life to a cardboard box.

How To Make It

Start with this circuit: power + sound trigger + fork 1.) timeout + wire + slide dimmer + wire + DC motor 2.) pulse + wire + buzzer + RGB LED 3.) servo

Cut a flap in the back of a box. We used a tissue box. What do you have at home?

Use a small cup to trace 3 circles on cardboard. Mark the center and cut them out. These will be your robot's wheels. We made one 2.5 inches in diameter and two 1.5 inches in diameter. You can try other sizes!

Cut slots for cardboard wheels in base of the box. We recommend two slots at 1.5 inches and the front wheel 2.5 inches.

Poke holes in the center of smaller wheels and stick the skewer through the wheels. This skewer will be your axle. Then cut your skewer to size.

Hot glue the axle to the inside bottom of the box. Make sure the wheels fit in the slots before glueing.

Stick a popsicle stick through the center of the 2.5 inch cardboard wheel. Hot glue the popsicle stick in place.

Cut the popsicle stick down to fit into the motor mate.

Place the motor with the motor mate and wheel in the center slot of the box base. Make sure to tape the Bits modules down well!

Place a cardboard box shelf inside the box. You can bend a piece of cardboard to make the shelf.

Choose the settings on the modules. 1.) Adjust sound trigger with screwdriver. 2.) Set the pulse. 3.) Set timer to whatever you like. 4.) Set timeout to on or off mode 5.) Move slide dimmer to choose the speed of the robot wheel.

Connect bits modules and tape down inside of the shelf.

Cut hold for servo and stick through box tape in place.

Use a smaller box to make the robot head. Cut out small holes for the eyes. What will your robot's eyes look like?

Feed buzzer and RGB LED through top of large box then stick inside small box and tape down.

Tape or glue head to the top of the box.

Make 2 arms and tape to servo and other side of box.

Make noise to get him rolling! Keep making noise to get him to wave at you!
