WHEN THE LIGHTS GO AWAY, THE WALL CREATURES COME OUT TO PLAY! Create your own light patterns that dance in the dark with this rotating light projector. Personalize your creation and control its speed and direction from your phone.

These instructions correspond to the Gizmos & Gadgets Kit: 2nd Edition. If you have the first edition of the Gizmos & Gadgets Kit, please refer to those instructions. They can be found here.

HOW IT WORKS:

  • The p1 power Bit provides electricity to the circuit.
  • The o9 bargraph receives constant and full signal, which lights up the Rotolamp.
  • The w19 split allows you to independently control the Bluetooth Low Energy Bits that follow it. It also gives more flexibility in placing your Bits.
  • The w30 Bluetooth low energy Bits are connected to the controls on your smart device via Bluetooth. The controls in the littleBits Invent App determine how much signal the Bluetooth Low Energy Bits pass on to the next Bits.
  • The o25 DC Motors spin according to how much signal they receive.
  • The wheels provide the base and the top of the Rotolamp, allowing the light and sleeve to spin in different directions.

When you're done building your invention, keep the fun going by following the Invention Cycle below!

PLAY: Turn on some music and have a dance party, or make a music video. Try different controls to get the effects you want!

REMIX: Tweak your invention to create a unique experience!

  • MAKE YOUR OWN SLEEVE. Try making a sleeve with squares, zigzags, or a scary face! See if you can change the projected colors.
  • TURN DOWN THE LIGHTS. Rearrange the circuit and use a Bluetooth low energy Bit to control how bright the bargraph shines.
  • SET IT SPINNING. Use the circuit to make a spinning display for your favorite objects.

SHARE: Invite your family and friends over for your light show! Show off all the different effects you can create, or have each person make their own. Take pictures of your favorite ones and share them on the littleBits Invent App.
